North Precinct detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for Friday afternoon’s shooting that critically injured 17-year-old Demario Crowder near Pearl Cohn High School.
Crowder was shot while standing on 26th Avenue North near Albion Street at 2:30 p.m. It is unclear why he was in the area. Crowder is not a student at Pearl Cohn High School. After he was shot, Crowder appeared to run toward a cream-colored Chrysler 300 with black rims. The Chrysler was stolen this morning from a residence on Mayflower Lane. The car had been left running, unattended, and unlocked. This does not appear to be a suspect vehicle as Crowder may have actually been running toward the car for help. The driver fled the scene. The Chrysler 300 has not been recovered.
Crowder was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is in critical condition.
Anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of the Chrysler 300 is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward. Information can also be provided on the web at http://www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com.
