Smyrna police charged decommissioned MNPD Officer Jonathan Frith with two misdemeanors, resisting a police stop and evading arrest, stemming from a dispute with one of his neighbors just after midnight Sunday.
Smyrna police report that Frith and another neighbor were derogatorily shouting at the residence of a person who lives near them after being warned to stay off that person’s property. When Smyrna police returned a second time, they report that Frith refused to stop after being ordered to do so and, later, would not return to the immediate scene.
Frith, 31, who has been with the MNPD for 8 years, was released from Smyrna police custody after posting bond. The MNPD’s Office of Professional Accountability is conducting an administrative investigation of his actions.
