Derek Mason to meet media Thursday at 1:30 CT
Vanderbilt football begins preseason camp this Friday on campus, working toward the season opener against Middle Tennessee set for Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m. CT at Vanderbilt Stadium.
The Commodores, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Derek Mason, kick off their first practice at 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday.

Mason will preview fall camp with the media on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. CT. Mason’s press conference will stream live on Vanderbilt Athletics’ Facebook page. Defensive coordinator Jason Tarver, offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig and special teams coordinator Shawn Mennenga will also address the media, as well as select student-athletes. The Commodores return 45 letterwinners, including 16 multi-game starters, from last season’s 5-7 squad that capped the 2017 season on a high note, defeating Tennessee in Knoxville. Among the returning starters are three-year starting quarterback Kyle Shurmur, senior offensive linemen Justin Skule and Bruno Reagan, junior receiving targets Kalija Lipscomb and Jared Pinkney, defensive lineman Dare Odeyingbo, outside linebacker Charles Wright, safety LaDarius Wiley and cornerback Joejuan Williams.
