Vanderbilt to open the season at 6:30 p.m. CT against Blue Raiders, 11 a.m. CT against Wolfpack
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Vanderbilt and Middle Tennessee will kick off the 2018 season opener at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 1 in Vanderbilt Stadium.
The Vanderbilt-Middle Tennessee kickoff was part of a joint announcement Thursday by the Southeastern Conference and ESPN for kick times of early-season games through the third week of action.
The Commodores’ second game of the season, against the Nevada Wolfpack of the Mountain West Conference in Vanderbilt Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 8, will kick off at 11 a.m. CT.
The opener marks the 18th game between Vanderbilt and Middle Tennessee, with the Commodores holding a 14-3 series advantage. Last year, the Commodores defeated Middle Tennessee 28-6 in the season opener in Murfreesboro.
The VU-MTSU game also will be televised on SEC Network Alternate.
The Sept. 8 game against Nevada will be the first meeting ever between the schools. The Nevada-Vanderbilt game will be televised on SEC Network.
