East Precinct detectives charged Lewis Shuler, 31, and Tiffany Biggs, 25, with Thursday’s stabbing/partial decapitation murder of Tremayne Cross who was found next to a dumpster in the 400 block of S. 4th Street.
The investigation shows that Cross, 45, lived near Shuler and Biggs on Charles E. Davis Boulevard in the J.C. Napier public housing development and left with them shortly after 1 a.m. in a black Dodge Charger. Evidence shows that the Charger traveled to the area of S. 4th Street and Shelby Avenue. A citizen discovered Cross on the ground at 1:40 a.m. and called police.
Shuler and Biggs are believed to have returned to the J.C. Napier area alone momentarily before driving the Charger a short distance to Mildred Shute Avenue where it was set on fire. The car was recovered Thursday.
Shuler and Biggs were booked into the Metro Jail a short time ago. They are being held in lieu of $1 million bond each.
