While Madison Precinct detectives have charged two teenagers with Thursday night’s fatal shooting of Laquan Link, 16, outside 1318 Westchester Drive, the car from which the gunfire is alleged to have come is still being sought.
Oshae Stewart, 18, and Treyvon Palmer, 15, surrendered separately to detectives at the Madison Precinct this morning. Witnesses in the area at the time of the shooting provided information that led to Stewart and Palmer being identified as suspects. Stewart’s 1996 maroon Infiniti sedan reportedly drove up to Link just before the shots were fired. The search for the car continues.
Stewart and Palmer refused to answer detectives’ questions early today. The motive for the murder of Link has not been established.
Anyone seeing Stewart’s Infiniti or knowing where it might be is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
Stewart is jailed in lieu of $125,000 bond. Palmer is confined at juvenile detention.
